The Collaborative is comprised of 12 charter organizations with a track record of high achievement and high growth. There are 32 member schools, representing more than 12,800 students across the city.


Intrepid college prep

Intrepid College Prep is a growing network of public charter schools in Southeast Nashville. Our mission is to equip every student with the academic foundation, financial literacy, and ethical development necessary to excel in selective colleges, earn professional opportunities, and demonstrate positive leadership. We are proud to be recognized as a 2018 Tennessee Reward School.

We believe every student can earn a four year degree- affordably. Due to our unique focus on financial literacy, our students will graduate with expertise in personal finance and business acumen to be problem solvers and social entrepreneurs.

KIPp nashville

KIPP Nashville is focused on not only cultivating in our students the academic skills needed for success in college and life beyond, but also the character skills. We also have College Readiness curriculum that begins in ninth grade and our KIPP Through College program, which follows students to and through college.

LEAd public schools

LEAD Public Schools does whatever it takes to ensure that every student in our care is prepared for college and life. We operate fresh-start charter schools (LEAD Academy and LEAD Southeast) and zoned-neighborhood "turnaround" schools (LEAD Brick Church, LEAD Cameron and LEAD Neely's Bend). Every single graduating class from LEAD Academy High School has earned 100 percent acceptance to college and last year, five out of the 50 teachers recognized for excellence in the classroom as Blue Ribbon teachers, came from LEAD.

Martha O’Bryan Center

  • East End Prep (K-8)
    Mission: East End Preparatory School prepares scholars for college degree completion and success in the competitive world beyond, through academic excellence and cultivating habits of the mind that promote strength of character and intellect.

    Vision: Success is not only defined by academics, but by holistic child development.  East End Prep's approach combines excellence in academics, character and virtues, the arts, and sports to provide an unmatched education in preparation for college and beyond. 

    Tours: East End Prep typically conducts tours on Tuesdays from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Prospective parents can sign up for tours online at this link.   • Explore! Community School (K-3)
    The mission of Explore Community School is to develop the love for learning, critical thinking, and communication skills of a diverse community of students as they master the academic and social emotional building blocks necessary for college and career success.  Our vision is to create a hallmark K-8 school that utilizes project-based learning and community engagement to provide an excellent education for all children across socioeconomic, racial and cultural backgrounds.

    Opened with a kindergarten class in Fall 2015 and growing one grade per year until K-8, Explore Community School will celebrate the curiosity and creativity of all students, providing them the unique opportunity to master core academic content while creating works of beauty and worth that will prepare them to become the innovative future leaders of Nashville.

Nashville classical

Our mission is to educate every child for academic success and personal excellence in high school, college, and life. We are a free, public elementary school located in East Nashville. We educate scholars through a classical curriculum, built on the study of great books, foreign language, and music. We educate scholars within an achievement-oriented culture, built upon core values, common language, and structured joy. We are Nashville Classical Charter School.

Purpose preparatory academy

Purpose Prep is an academically rigorous, college preparatory school. We believe that every child, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or incoming academic level, can and must achieve at a high level. Purpose Prep was recognized as a Tennessee Reward School for academic achievement, ranking within the top 5% of schools in the state of Tennessee. Purpose Prep is the first elementary school in North Nashville to ever have earned this distinction in Nashville's history. We are also ranked as one of the highest performing schools in the MNPS District.

RePublic Schools

RePublic Schools is a network of high-performing public charter schools based in Nashville, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss. with a mission to reimagine public education in the South and prepare all of our scholars to graduate from college. In addition to providing a world-class traditional academic curriculum, we empower our students to be change-makers by teaching them to code.

Despite the fact that our scholars come from traditionally underserved communities (approximately 85% identify as low-income, and nearly 95% as students of color), we have seen them defy the odds to achieve outstanding results. RePublic’s schools have scored in the top 5% of all open-enrollment public schools across the state of Tennessee for both student growth and absolute achievement – making ours the first (and only) charter schools in state history to achieve this dual distinction.

STEM Preparatory Academy is dedicated to delivering a rigorous, inquiry-based education with a strategic focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By cultivating a community of learning and academic excellence, STEM Prep will bolster the number of underrepresented students who graduate from the most competitive postsecondary programs and universities in the country and lead the discoveries and innovations of the future.

STRIVE is unique because it was created based on a need in the community that we serve. We offer personalized learning with a family environment throughout the journey at STRIVE. Not only are the students continuously learning about themselves, both academically and personally, but the teachers and faculty get the chance to be active in their teaching practices, learning more about themselves, which in turn, helps them grow personally.

valor collegiate academies

Valor is a charter management organization (CMO) based in Nashville, Tenn. It currently operates three public charter schools serving grades 5–9 with approximately 1,250 students. Its middle schools are at full growth, and its high school will eventually serve approximately 750 students at scale in 2021–2022, with a total of 1,750 students network-wide. Both Valor middle schools are among the highest-performing academic schools in the state of Tennessee, and it currently has the longest charter waitlist in Nashville. Valor is committed to serving a socioeconomically diverse population that reflects the Nashville community at large. Approximately 50 percent of its scholars come from lower-income backgrounds (as defined by qualification for free and reduced lunch). It has no racial majority within its richly racially diverse community of Hispanic/Latino, MENA (Middle Eastern/North African), White, African-American, and Asian scholars and families.

Valor envisions a world where all children have equitable access to an education that prepares them to live inspired and purposeful lives. It strongly believes that engaging students – and the community that supports them – in a comprehensive human development system called Compass, including attending to their character development, is essential to their, and our collective, success.
